Nia Northway
Massage Therapist
Nia became a licensed massage therapist in 2021 after experiencing massage’s safe space to relax and breathe for herself. Providing these things for others brings her so much happiness!
“Initially, I studied environmental science and environmental education in college. I taught at nature centers and evaluated environmental education programming. Later in life, I began working with special needs students. Although I enjoyed working with children, I was becoming increasingly stressed and started getting more massages for myself. As much as I appreciated getting massages to help work out my knotty self, I also needed a safe space to relax and just be able to breathe. Then, it occurred to me that massage therapy might be an appropriate career path for me to pursue. I needed those things for myself and I knew that being able to provide that for other people would bring me much happiness. And it has! I have been a professional licensed massage therapist for about three years and have training in oncology massage, cupping, prenatal massage and more. I have four grown children and I moved to the area to live closer to my son, Lawrence. In my spare time, I enjoy caring for my multitude of pets (five cats, one dog, bearded dragon, Russian tortoise and zebra finch), tending to my plants both indoor and outdoor, making jewelry, and listening to music.”
